Engineer(s) refers to the operative on site or allocated to a site for inspection / works by Certificates4you.

Responsible person(s) refers to the sole person(s) responsible for the property for which the inspection has been instructed or the person(s) who authorised / sent the payment to Certificates4you and / or appliance owner / agency.

Authorized person(s) refers to the person authorized by the responsible person(s) e.g. agent, tenant, occupant etc.

Governing bodies refers to the organisation(s) responsible for the legal requirements / administration of the related industry.


By ordering a service with Certificates4you. The responsible person / Agency is acknowledging and agreeing to the full terms and conditions.


Orders

By submitting an order the responsible person(s) agree to the terms stated in the terms & conditions.

Copyright

Any persons found impersonating, using logo's or affiliated branding, trading as, identifying too, Certificates4you without written consent will be prosecuted under UK laws.


Engineers Responsibilities

The attending engineer is responsible for the correct procedures which meet the trade they are qualified.

Gas Engineers - All gas engineers are required to work to Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. The service provided is to inspect the gas appliance(s) to a maximum of 4 appliances per property / installation pipework within the property instructed via the details form on submission of payment. The engineer(s) working with Certificates4you is responsible for making any ‘Immediately Dangerous’ appliance(s) / installation pipework safe by permanently disconnecting/isolating the appliance(s) / installation pipework from any live gas supply. Should the responsible person(s) not permit safe procedure, the relevant governing bodies will be contacted and made aware of the situation. In any such case where a governing body is contacted Certificates4you and/or the engineer(s) will no longer be responsible for any consequences, fees or actions taken in relation to this event. Should any appliance(s) / installation pipework be deemed as ‘At Risk’ the engineer(s) will advise for permanent isolation. Should the responsible person(s) not agree to the disconnection, a warning notice will be provided and a signature of confirmation will be required. Any appliance(s) / installation pipework classified as ‘Not to Current Standards’ may be logged. Certificates4you is not responsible for any repairs required to any such gas appliance(s) / installation pipework within the property that are deemed unsafe. The engineer(s) on site is responsible for logging the appliance deemed faulty and leaving it in a safe condition according to the current regulations. Certificates4you will make the responsible person(s) aware of any defects on completion of inspection. Certificates4you and / or the engineer(s) will not be held responsible for any damage, injury, death or financial loss caused by poorly maintained, damaged, faulty, and / or incorrectly installed existing appliances.

All electrical inspections will be carried out by a competent engineer to the current UK standard for safety of electrical installations BS 7671 - Requirements for electrical installations (IEE Wiring Regulations). If any installation is deemed unfit for use in the way that use may cause harm or injury. The competent engineer(s) will take the necessary procedures to which he/she feels are required to prevent harm or injury.


Testing Appliances

Appliances must be in working order and accessible when the engineer(s) arrive. Gas and Electric must be available at the property. The engineer may need to run the appliance at maximum output to test safe operation. If any defects happen during / occur after the inspection / service as a result of the engineer(s) testing of the appliance, Certificates4you and / or the engineer(s) will not be held responsible or liable for any remedial works, damage, injury, and / or financial loss caused.


Scheduling

Certificates4you aim to complete the process within 2-5 working days of receiving payment. In the event that inspections are not completed, Certificates4you and / or the engineer(s) are not responsible for any consequence(s) arising, which relate to tenancy agreements, legal prosecution, injury, death, damage, financial loss. By ordering a service with Certificates4you the responsible person accepts full responsibility for any of the mentioned consequence(s).


Payments

Payment transactions are conducted using PayPal unless otherwise requested. Certificates4you will never save or store any payment details. Certificates4you will never share any payment details with third parties other than PayPal. Certificaes4you will never ask for passwords or login details.


Servicing

Gas appliances should be serviced every 12 months. A boiler service is not a repair. If an appliance has a fault the responsible person must contact Certificatesyou prior to booking a service. If a service is carried out on a faulty appliance a refund will not be issued. It's the responsible persons duty to check the year of the service and order the correct service depending on the manufacturers recommendations. The correct service must be ordered to meet the manufacturers requirements. This information can be obtained by the appliance manufacturer. If any damages or injury arise due to an incorrect service being booked and / or completed, Certificates4you and / or the engineer(s) will not be held responsible. It is the duty of the responsible person to order and pay for the correct service. The service procedures can be found by clicking the relevant service on the services page click here.


Customer Details

Certificates4you may on occasion use third party engineers to carry out inspections. For the purposes of carrying out the inspections contact details may be shared with these engineers. By ordering services with Certificates4you you are consenting to any contact details being shared with third party companies and / or engineers. This does not include any payment information.


Gas Safe Register

Certificates4you may use company engineers and / or third party engineers. Company engineers are registered under Ansa Property Maintenance - Gas safe registration number 529174.

Third party engineers may be registered under there own business which is displayed on the completed reports.


Portable Appliance Test

If certain appliances require a Portable Appliance Test in the property this should be made clear to the visiting engineer(s) before the inspection commences. If the specific items are not detailed in the additional notes or described to the visiting engineer. The engineer will test the appliances he/she feels necessary.


Refunds

The responsible person(s) may be entitled to a full refund if the inspection is unable to be carried out due to the following occurrence(s):

  1. Failure to visit a property due to a reason directly created by Certificates4you or the engineer(s). For example a vehicle breakdown.
  2. If the responsible person(s) cancels the inspection prior to any engineer(s) being instructed. After the engineer(s) have been sent instruction to carry out the inspection a refund may not be possible.

The responsible person may NOT be entitled to a full refund for the following reason(s):

  1. After an appointment has been scheduled the engineer visits the property and cannot gain access.
  2. Certificates4you has allocated business time and resources trying to schedule an appointment with a tenant and / or responsible person.
  3. The appliance(s) in the property have been recorded with any defects and / or unsafe appliances have been appropriately dealt with.
  4. The responsible person decides to cancel the inspection due to a change of mind and / or circumstance.
  5. A breach in any of the terms and conditions.


Appointments

Certificates4you will make appointments to gain property access via tenants or other authorised person(s) requested by the responsible person(s). However, it is the duty of the responsible person to make access available should the tenant or authorised person(s) not be available. Certificates4you will not be held accountable for any property that has a failed report due to no access.

In the event that Certificates4you arranges an appointment and the authorised person(s) provided by the responsible person(s) via the details form or telephone booking fails to adhere to that arrangement and the engineer(s) is unable to gain access to carry out the inspection, Certificates4you have the right to decline any refund due to administration charges. A fee may be charged for any visits to properties where the engineer(s) has not been able to gain access.

If the engineer(s) is unable to carry out the inspection due to 1) the meter not being accessible, 2) no gas/electric available at the property, the inspection may be recorded as unsafe and an administration fee may be charged at the discretion of Certificates4you.

Certificates4you aim to do inspections on days / times which have been requested. Unfortunately, this is not always possible due to the nature of the job. However, if you would like a guaranteed day please select the preferred date and add ‘Premium Option’.


Accounts

Certificates4you have the right to decline / delete User Accounts at any time.


Pricing

Certificates4you have the right to decline / delete User Accounts at any time. Prices can be altered at anytime without notifying previous customers.


Promotion

Certificates4you will occasionally run promotional activities. Users who participate in these activities grant permission for the us to gather information via marketing platforms such as 'mailchimp'. We only use trusted marketing companies to gather data. However, the companies we use may have access to your information. Certificates4you will not be held responsible for your data once it has been submitted to the external marketing company. If you have reason to believe any of your data has been compromised, the user should contact us immediately by emailing info@certificates4you.co.uk.


Abuse

Certificates4you operate a strict no abuse policy. Should any customers behave in a manner that we feel is not acceptable, our staff hold the right to terminate any accounts, subscriptions or services booked. Any future services may be declined.


Smoke & Carbon monoxide devices

It's the duty of the responsible person to make sure any existing devices are on show and installed in the correct location for the visiting engineer(s) to inspect.  The attending engineer(s) may record the property as not having a device installed if:

  1. The device is not installed in the correct location.
  2. The device is left lose on a shelf.
  3. The device does not meet current regulations.

Certificates4you and / or the engineer(s) will not be held responsible for injury, damage, death, and / or financial loss caused by:

  1. Incorrectly installed existing devices.
  2. Malfunctioning devices installed by the visiting engineer(s).
  3. Existing devices in general including no / faulty batteries.

Agencies

Our Contractual Agreement

By requesting a repair / service the agent agrees to the above terms and accepts the following terms:


  • Our contract is with the agent and not the landlord (i.e. the agents customer).
  • Certificates4you will not be held responsible for collecting payments from landlords who do / do not use the agents services.
  • The agent is responsible and liable for the full payment of the amount invoiced.
  • The amount we invoice is the amount we must receive. 
  • Full payment is due on the date of the invoice.
  • At our discretion some payments may be made up to a maximum of 14 days from the invoice date.
  • Late payments may be subject to additional late fee's.
  • Any queries regarding services or costings should be made clear prior to booking.



Certificates4you hold the right to change these terms and may make changes at any time without notice. It is the responsibility of the responsible person / agency to check these terms before placing an order.
